Integrated information Consciousness is intrinsic causal power, measured as integrated information
Anton Arkhipov is a research scientist at the Allen Institute for Brain Science, where he leads the AIBRAIN program on large-scale biophysically detailed modeling of brain circuits. He works on building and validating detailed models of the rodent visual cortex, combining the Allen Brain Observatory’s dense neural recordings with biophysically realistic neuron models to reproduce cortical dynamics.
Arkhipov co-authored the State of Brain Emulation Report 2025 (arXiv:2510.15745), contributing the computational neuroscience perspective on what whole brain emulation requires, including the biophysical parameters, simulation scale, and validation that a wiring diagram alone cannot supply. His work defines the difference between a connectome and an emulation, and that distinction is central to the brain emulation section on this site.
